Are You Erecting Barriers in Your Progress Towards Success?
Did you ever have that dream where you’re running through foggy woods at night? Either something’s chasing you, or you’re running to something. But either way, although you heave your legs forward through the mist, you can’t seem to make headway. You’re moving in slow motion.
You’re moving in no-motion!
For a lot of people, this is a portrait of their progress toward their goals.
Today I’m going to talk about three common reasons why people get “stuck.” Does one of these apply to you? Do all of them?
- Do you know your Core Desires? I’ve talked about this a lot, and I’ll talk about it more in upcoming blogs, so for now, I’ll just remind you: Goal setting for something you aren’t meant to do and really don’t even want to do just distracts you from the good decisions you need to make. It’s clutter. So, declutter! Find your Core Desires, and you’ll unleash the power that will drive you to the success you’ve always dreamed of
- Are you operating under false paradigms? Do you think things like, “I don’t have what it takes to make money,” or “I’ve always failed, and I always will.” Time for an attitude change! Learn from your mistakes, yes, but don’t infuse the past with power that it doesn’t have – that’s irrational thinking. Like virtually everyone else on the planet, from the most successful people to the least, you have strengths and weaknesses. Develop your strengths and find strategies to compensate for your weaknesses.
- Are you hindered by the belief that money is bad? Not true. The love of money is bad, and crippling. But saying money itself is bad is like saying a pencil is bad. A pencil is a tool – you can use it to write a grocery list, a hateful threat to your noisy neighbor, or poetry so poignant that readers will be forever changed. Money is a very useful tool. Give yourself permission to have lots of it . . . then use it well.
In your journey toward success, you will confront obstacles. But, powered by your Conquering Force, you can overcome them. Overcome your fears and limitations, and you will break free from the fog of immobility and find yourself running with long, sure strides toward your future.
