You do. And you are not alone.

We ALL have them. And, dang it, they are getting in the way of your success!

I have identified 55 that exist and anyone of them can get in your way.

What if you have more than one? Most people do!

Here are just a few:

• wanting more but not know how to make it happen
• lack of confidence
• procrastination
• low self-esteem,
• wrong or limiting paradigms
• being a perfectionist
• fear
• not knowing WHY you are not as successful although you keep trying,
• no or low passion
• self doubt
• marriage issues of all kinds

Most problems people experience are from two main things

1) ignorance and…
2) invisible barriers they have that get in the way of any “knowledge” they may have.

Ignorance is actually an invisible barrier too…. and it can be deadly. Ignorance about success principles is bad enough but ignorance your invisible barriers is just as bad if not worse because they can keep you stuck….forever repeating the same cycle of mediocrity or failure regardless of what you know.

Whatever YOUR invisible barriers are, they must be found and destroyed! You must not only identify them but be able to, with laser focus and precision efficiency, eliminate them completely. Like blowing up a dam! Only then can you achieve the success you long for and deserve….without being held back by one or more invisible barriers.

Once the Invisible Barriers are gone you will be able to move forward at any pace that you want!   If they aren’t destroyed you are destined to continue to get what you have been getting no matter how many self-books you read or how many hours you spend listening to motivational and self-help CD programs. Those things are of no value if the invisible barriers interfere with the application of what is taught.

Knowledge is NOT power. The proper use of knowledge is power. So what if you have barriers you can’t see that interfere with the proper use of that knowledge?

About 20 years ago I created a methodology that identifies and eradicates invisible barriers. It is amazingly fast and lasts forever. I have people from many countries and every walk of life and profession you can imagine come to me for help in getting to the “next level” in their life. Italy, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Norway. People are the same all over the world. We all have invisible barriers.

It saddens me how much people spend in time, energy, discouraging feelings and outright failure, over and over only to end up someplace different than they wanted to be.

They give us birth; they love us from the moment they know they are pregnant with us.  And, even after the pain we cause them byour birth process they love us even more; they suckle and nurture us as babes: kissed and hugged us a lot as we toddled around; when we fell and got owies they made our hurts all better; they cared for us and worried about us all through childhood and on into ….well they never stop doing that do they? The good ones never give up on us even though we are sometimes real stinkers and not very thoughtful or nice. They love us any way and they worry about us no matter our age. I am 61 years old and I know my 87 year old mother still prays for me. I thank her for that.

Mothers are awesome! I am especially impressed with single moms! They are some kind of super being! To be able to juggle parenting, day care, a job etc all at the same time and all by themselves is remarkable. Hard. Yet they do it! Parenting is hard enough with both father and mother but being a single mom …boy oh man that takes strength! I so admire all single moms!

Sadly some mothers leave something to be desired. They can be helicopter moms, always hovering over their kids and not letting them learn to be independent. Watching or controlling everything they can. Some are overly protective creating fear or insecurity in their children. Some just won’t cut the apron strings which can create a “momma’s boy” or dependant adults who are always angry at their parents and want little to do with them.

Thank goodness the vast majority of mothers are really good people and they create awesome, happy children who grow up to be awesome, happy adults! I want to honor ALL mothers this Mother’s Day because, at a minimum, they gave us life. At a maximum they gave us the love, direction and compassion needed to help us create a life of our own and eventually children of our own. And the cycle of life continues.

I repeat, mothers are awesome!  So on May 8^th let’s all do something to show them we love them!

The Royal Wedding and How to Save Your Marriage

The Royal wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William is sure getting tons of press! Millions will be watching it regardless of how early they have to get up or how late they have to stay up.

I hope it is a fairytale where the prince and the princess live happily ever after.

I especially enjoy the fun we all get to have with young ones. I love seeing their eyes get big and giant smiles splash across their faces as they see their colorful Easter basket chock full of delicious candy.

There was always a six inch or bigger all chocolate rabbit ready to be eaten standing prominently in the woven basket.

They all knew that it was not to be eaten until after lunch.

It’s fun to see them scramble for the hunt when we tell them that the eggs they colored the day before have been hidden all over the place just waiting to be found.

The excitement heightens dramatically when we tell them that there are three “special” plastic eggs with money inside them. We let them know that there is one with $1.00 in it, one with $5.00 in it and a GRAND PRIZE egg with $10.00 in it.

I sincerely hope you are too.  But one thing that is really going to prevent you from getting the success you want this year is something called “information overload.”

Is THIS keeping you stuck?

To put it simply, information overload is when you have too much information in your head and this causes confusion and over-analysis to the point where you never get anything done.

Sound familiar?

It’s a true dream killer.

And unfortunately, in 2011 more and more information is going to be available to you than ever before.

We are constantly being bombarded with marketing messages from all the “experts” and gurus out there who are trying to sell us the latest magic pill that promises that we’ll accomplish all of our dreams without having to do any actual work.

I’m sure you know by now that success in any endeavor requires a little bit work or “elbow grease” if you will.

Once you discover your Core Desires which unleashes the Conquering Force that is within you, having the motivation to put in the work necessary will be no problem for you at all. It will be automatic.

Further, once you have the sense of direction that comes from identifying your Core Desires and the automatic awakening of your conquering force, you’ll easily be able to figure out what information you need RIGHT NOW in order to succeed and what information you can discard and not waste your time on.

When I mentor people on a one-on-one basis, one of the first things I do with them is help them discover their Core Desires and then we use this information to develop a focused game plan for turning their dreams into a reality as quickly as possible.

I also work very hard to help people stay focused so they’re ONLY taking the actions that will lead them to their goals.  No more, no less.

If you really want to make 2011 your best year ever, then enlisting the help of a personal mentor is an absolutely CRITICAL step that you must take.

I want to talk to you about an issue that comes out for a lot of people. You going down the paths and you are not getting where you want to go and you keep running in the barriers and obstacles and it’s just not happening. But, it is the only way you know. You get discouraged and you think what I am going to do like you are in a job that you don’t like but what you going to do because that’s what your degree is in, you are paid a good income so you got to do that or your marriage isn’t the way you want to be or your children are not whom you want them to be, they are not turning the way you hope they will turn out. You are worried about them, something is wrong and yet you feel lost. You don’t know the right way to go.

Principles of Success -#3 There Is Always Another Way

Well, I want you to know that there is always another way. If the road you are on or street you are on does not work, it’s not getting where you want to go there is another way, you always have choices. There is another way no matter what and some may not be the best way but you will with help find out? How to go down a different road; go down a different path, another way? There is written an awful phrase “There is more than one way to skin a cat”, I don’t know who come up with that, it s an awful saying but it means this there is more than one way to do things.

If your relationship with God is not the way you want, there is another way to make it happen. If your relationship with your husband or wife is not what you want, assuming that they are not alcoholic or drug addict, there is another way to make that happen than what you are currently doing, there is always another way, you must trust that than when you keep your brain into gear to try to find out how to find out another way? You start seeking advice and wisdom from others whose marriage is working, whose kids are turning out fine and they are not dealing with issues like drugs or whatever or they are closed to god or they feel successful. If you want to be like them wouldn’t they be good person to ask how they got there? They could show their way, another way different than yours because your way isn’t working and then you might think I don’t have a choice, I don’t have any other option, you always have options there is always another way. In fact, it is anything you want to be.

An aspiring writer I know became friends with the creator of a complicated role-playing game.  The creator asked him if he could write a novel featuring characters in the imagined world of the game.  “It’ll promote the game,” he said to the writer.  “And it will give you a book in print.  Maybe we’ll make it a series.”

Blueprint for Success: Why Put Success Off For Tomorrow When You Can Have It Today?

Now. this writer knew that he’d just been handed the opportunity of a lifetime.  Fiction writing is a very tough business – for many writers, a career high point is getting a rejection slip that has a handwritten note across the top instead of only the pre-printed text.

Writing fiction, without a doubt, was this young writer’s Core Desire.  Unfortunately, he made Mistake # 6 of the Mistakes People Make Over and Over: succumbing to procrastination and analysis paralysis.

Here’s how it goes:

• You make the big first effort. In the writer’s case, he dedicated every spare moment for a full month to his new novel. He wrote at the library, on the bus, and in the bathroom. He poured everything he had into that first third of the book.
• Then he got tired. “I’ve got to get away from this computer!” The plot to his story got convoluted and unclear. The end of the book began to feel out of reach.
• He fell into what I call analysis paralysis. “I can’t go on until I resolve the flaws to this plot!” I assume you do need to create some kind of blueprint for success for your plot, but he got caught up the planning. He read books about plotting. He watched movies with a similar genre. He wrote flow charts of potential plot lines. He didn’t write.
• In the end, only a month before his deadline, he realized that he had no more time. His paralysis shifted to a frantic effort. He did produce a finished product, a week after his deadline, but it was pieced together, full of flaws and inconsistencies. It didn’t reflect his ability. The game creator published the book, but there was no offer of a series.

The writer knew his Core Desire, and he had the Conquering Force to drive him through obstacles.  He was handed an opportunity to take him to success, but he effectively sabotaged it by procrastinating.

You are going to have to watch for this.  Whether it’s fear of failure, bad work habits, or lack of emotional maturity, you might find yourself veering off course.  This is not the time for affirmations or visualization (see Monday’s blog).  This is the time to reconnect with your Core Desires and make sure you’re on course.  You will need to make course corrections, but make sure you haven’t veered into a completely different direction.

I know a man whose parents had been living as wage earners their whole lives, just managing to eke out a meager existence. Because of their own life experiences, they tried to discourage him from going into business for himself out of love and concern for him.

Are You Taking Steps Towards Success?

They would say things like “You won’t have a steady paycheck.” And when he persisted they would say “You know, eighty percent of all businesses fail. You won’t have much of a chance. You don’t have enough education. Get a good job, stay with a company, and work your way up.”

That man didn’t listen to his parents or anyone who cast doubt on his Core Desire to establish and run his own business. And because of that today he is very successful, having only listened to those who had already realized what he had determined he wanted.  Those people were the ones who knew the way and they helped him get to their level.

I was that young man.

The archetypes about business and education that made up my parents’ beliefs may have been accurate from their own life experience, but it did not take into consideration the power of my Core Desires.

As demonstrated in my own story, I had a deep, intense, and powerful longing to have my own business. You will know you have uncovered a Core Desire when you can feel it is something you want with all your heart.  They aren’t “shoulds” or “ought-tos.”

There is no question in my mind that I owe all my successes to my Core Desires, my mentors, God, and encouraging, supportive wife.

What Steps are YOU taking towards Success?

Have Road Blocks and Barriers Been Holding You Back?

As Spring turns into Summer, more and more of us will encounter construction on the roads and highways in and around where we live.  I have even heard some people refer to this time of year as the ‘fifth season’ called ‘Construction’.

Have Road Blocks and Barriers Been Holding You Back?

Yes, at times it can seem like all surrounding interstates and major highways in the area where you live have been under construction for years.  Only easing slightly in poor weather, but re-emerging more fiercely than ever as the mild weather returns.

Every roadblock, detour, or barrier that crop up and hold you back from getting from A to B are seemingly endless…it can sometimes feel like we are just traveling from one detour to another.

You may be reading this and coming to the realization that your entire life experience has been like that.  That you seem to see ROAD CLOSED signs no matter which way you turn, maybe personally or in business, or both. That all of it has just been exhausting, that you never seem to make much progress in life.

Is low self-esteem or poor self confidence could be causing you to performing at lower levels than you want?
