Steps for Success in Online Marketing

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about some of the mistakes people make.  Remember this one:   “going forward without enough information or quitting too soon?”  Be clear on your Core Desires, but don’t forget to do your research and make a good solid business plan, particularly when it comes to online marketing.  The internet is reinventing itself every day, so you need to be willing to constantly learn and re-evaluate your plan.  Once you’re set up to promote yourself and your product or service, keep these things in mind:

  • According to Netcraft Web Server Survey, there are more than 108 million websites on the world wide web. That’s sites, not pages within the sites. That’s a lot of competition. Your website won’t do you any good if your prospective customers don’t know you’re there. Think about increasing your web presence with an SEO – search engine optimization. This will put your site in a more prominent position in a search engine.

  • You have maybe 30 seconds to make an impact on a visitor to your website. Tailor it to your customer base – a site directed toward horse racing enthusiasts will look very different from one directed toward stock brokers. I invested $10,000 in my first website before I found out that it wasn’t an effective sales tool. Save yourself wasted time and money by doing the research or hiring an expert you can trust.
  • The key to your success is reaching your customers. Develop creative ways to let them know about new products and services in your online store. Think about adding incentives – surprise offers, discounts or free products. Add a forum and some informative articles to draw repeat visits.

You might be intimidated by the prospect of marketing yourself on the internet.  A lot of people are.  But don’t start telling yourself that you “can’t” do it, or that you’re not cut out for it.  You can learn anything you need to learn, and a lot of times it’s in your best interests to hire someone with skills you don’t possess.

I want to see you on the path to success.  There’s a lot to learn, but I’m here to help you.  Do you know you can change your whole direction if you have the right information?  Join many others and sign up now to learn the steps to success in just five minutes a day.
