Pain and Stress Reduction Through Finding Your Core Desires?

If your daily life reflects your core desires — the drives and desires that define your very essence — this will be your life.

I speak with so many people looking for pain and stress reduction and I have found the answer through what I call “core desires”.

You’ll make steady progress toward your goals. But more importantly, you’ll have fun getting there, because you’ll be doing what you love to do — what you were born to do.

Even if you meet obstacles. Even if it’s hard. Even if it’s costly.

Throughout history, the great leaders have inspired people to action by tapping into their core de

sires. Listen to this quote:

“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering. ”

Doesn’t that make you want to jump on board with this guy? I mean a grievous ordeal .Months of struggle and suffering. Who could resist, right?

But when Winston Churchill spoke those words to an already battle-weary England in 1940, the nation rallied behind him.

Why?

Because he went on to speak to their core desires:

“You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs – victory in spite of all terrors – victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.
Let that be realized. No survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind shall move forward toward his goal.”

Survival! How’s that for a core desire?

Churchill didn’t underestimate what those coming war years would bring — the blitz, food rationing and loss of over four hundred thousand lives. But the people persevered. Historians still write about their courageous spirit as they fought together behind their leader.

When a great leader speaks to his or her followers core desires, the followers rally behind the cause. When leaders lose touch with those core desires, their influence dissolves.

Now, you may be asking — “What does this have to do with how I feel when the alarm clock goes off at six in the morning? How is this going to help me with pain and stress reduction?”

Everything!

Once you go through the process of identifying your Core Desires and aligning your life to them, you will fight for your cause the way the English fought for theirs. No sacrifice will be too large; no adversary will be too daunting.

You will be fighting the good fight. Once you’re on course with your Core Desires, you’ll wake in the morning with a new sense of purpose. Maybe you will confront ordeals.

Maybe you will struggle for months. But you won’t falter. You won’t shy away from the battle, because you’ll be fighting for the emancipation of your Core Desires.

You will prevail.

The truth is there is no significant difference between you and those people. It is all in the mind – and it comes down to identifying your Core Desires – your real passions – and acting on them in such a way that uses what I call your Conquering Force to achieve success.

It is just not a cliché when people talk about the “power within” – come to think of it, you alone are the only one who can be held responsible for the way you live, and you alone have the capacity to change your world.

The mind creates negative thoughts easily, pushing up barriers and causing you to believe that you must remain stuck where you are. Giving in to this negativity prevents you from doing anything that can lead you to success – it becomes a vicious cycle that keeps you trapped.

Real emotional maturity that leads to success comes when you begin to identify your own barriers – whether it comes through self-examination or with the help of a mentor. Begin studying your own thoughts and observing the things you constantly tell yourself. What kinds of barriers are being thrown up in your path?

• I could never make that kind of money
• I’ll always be stuck in this job
• I can’t take those kinds of risks
• This always happens to me
• I’m too ugly to find a partner
• No one ever listens to me

On and on – if these are your thought patterns, you need to aim for a change.

Start to think about what you do want. What are you passionate about? What would you do if there were no limitations? Why would you do that particular thing? What is your greatest desire? Why? What would it mean if you attained the thing you most wanted?

As you ask yourself these questions, you’ll begin to start drilling down to what your real Core Desires are.

Don’t be afraid to take some time about it. In my years of mentoring people, I’ve seen the same thing over and over again – most people don’t know what it is that they really want. They might feel they know things on the surface, but the true Core of desire remains hidden – and it holds you back from really releasing your Conquering Force and being unstoppable.

Having clear focus gives you the confidence to be successful at any aspect of life, whether it be in your business, your relationships, your spirituality, or your leisure time – with confidence, you can take actions that will help you move forward and get you closer to success.

In the end, you must remember that success is not a chance, but a choice.
