On Thanksgiving, I went to the local coffee shop prior to my flight to LA. I make it a point to greet each person who works there. I asked one of the cashiers what his plans were for Thanksgiving. He said he was celebrating Christmas early this year with his family. His aunt, a 53 year old woman, was diagnosed with breast cancer and may not live until Christmas. His family decided to have an early celebration. This story brought tears to my eyes thinking this young man was losing a close family member. Soon after hearing this story, I purchased a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I went back to the coffee shop and told him to give these to his Aunt. He was so grateful and thanked me.
A week later, I returned back to the coffee shop and saw him again. He ran up to me and said "My aunt loved the flowers and wanted me to tell you thank you and that you are truly an angel." He then told me that she passed away the next day. I broke down in tears and told him I was so sorry for his loss. He said to me - "Don't worry. She is with her angels now". I keep on thinking about how I was able to bring little sunshine to her life before she passed.
"We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another."

It is a very heartening story of goodwill and compassion, perfectly in accord with the Christmas spirit. It is also a striking affirmation of how Nature or Cosmic consciousness responds to our selfless gestures. The very act of giving evokes a matching response from the Supreme Divine, implicit in which is the truth that there really is no separation. The problems that the good doctor's car developed on the road just vanished on their own, after his acts of kindness. All of us as embodiments of the Divine Spark can make the world more a joyous place. This is what Christmas is all about.
